There's just something so right about having to pass twenty deer just to make it to somewhere you can lay your head for the night.
I'm just saying.
This week has been a clusterfuck of emotions. Honestly. I let some things fester, the shit hit the fan and the result was the temper tantrum of a two year old that arrived about sixteen years late. Fear not, positive things have come about. Growth and change. Positive modifications in life and mood.
Needing an escape from life in Norfolk for a few days I naturally invited myself over to Madeline's lovely home at Sweet Briar. So, on four hours of sleep I drove the four hours to visit her. By chance a friend had recently given me a mix consisting mainly of Shins songs and I found myself listening to "Australia" repeatedly on the drive up. Beautiful song; poignant and cutting.
"We come in doing cartwheels,
We all crawl out by ourselves."
We are given a limited amount of time to enjoy ourselves in this life, don't waste that time on foolish matters. So often I focus on the nitty gritty aspects of life that I just end up making myself miserable. Who wants that?
This change is good. Perfect weather to start it out with. Four hours of driving with the windows down and the tunes up. Much needed time with my sister and lots of giggles with her (and my new) amazing friends. Corny movies and junk food. I could get used to this.
